Histamine enzymatic assay kit
The MaxSignal® Histamine Enzymatic Assay Kit enables international and government regulatory agencies, food manufacturers and processors, as well as quality assurance organizations, to detect histamine in animal matrices in response to customer concerns about food.
safety.
Advantages
- AOAC approved histamine test for seafood
- Simple: add a sample and a master mix to the plate
- Sensitive detection of histamine – detection limit of 4 ppm
- Faster results – just 15 minutes between sample and results
- Economical – No expensive instrumentation required
- High recovery rates
The MaxSignal® Histamine Enzymatic Assay Kit is a colorimetric enzymatic assay for the determination of
histamine in fresh fish/seafood (AOAC-validated), fish meal, wine, and milk. Histamine is a contaminant that can be found in seafood when it is improperly handled or stored, causing scombroid food poisoning. Quality tuna has histamine levels below 50 ppm. The amount of histamine can be determined using ELISA or LCMS. However, these traditional methods require very expensive instrumentation and time-consuming sample preparation procedures.
- Plate: 1 x 96 wells (8 removable wells x 12 strips)
- Measurement: Microtiter plate reader (450 nm)
- Tests per kit: The kit has the capacity for 96 determinations or to test 42 samples in duplicate
- Standards: 0/1/2/4/8/12 ppm
- Incubation time: 5 minutes
- Shelf life and storage: 12 months when properly stored
