The low-noise preamplifier 5185 is characterized by its very wide range of amplification of the DC to more that 200MHz with gains of 20dB or 40dB. Designed by EG & G, and now manufactured by SIGNAL RECOVERY, it can operate on mains and its input impedance may be 50Ω or 1MΩ. It is specially suited to increase the sensitivity of oscilloscopes or it can be used as a fast ADC converter.
