ZBV with Tx-view X-ray inspection vehicle
AS-E
AS&E’s new Tx-View option for ZBV allows ZBV operators to simultaneously acquire dual-energy transmission images and photo-like Z Backscatter images of scanned vehicles for enhanced detection of threats and contraband. This combination provides Customs and security officials with the lowest cost, multi- technology, mobile cargo and vehicle screening system available.
The Z Backscatter® Van ("ZBV") is the most maneuverable, versatile, and successful cargo and vehicle screening system on the market. In addition to Z Backscatter technology—pioneered and perfected by AS&E—the ZBV with the Tx-View option offers enhanced detection of metallic threats by providing dual-energy transmission images of scanned vehicles and cargo.
Advantages
- Simultaneous Z Backscatter and dual-energy transmission images
- Enhanced detection of metallic threats, such as weapons and VBIED components
- Maximum flexibility, maneuverability, and ease of use
- Real-time imaging of vehicles and cargo for rapid analysis
Using an innovative, low-profile detector design, the system is able to generate dual-energy images using the same X-ray source that generates the Z Backscatter images. Dual-energy transmission imaging provides enhanced detection of metallic threats and contraband, while Z Backscatter imaging provides photo-like images that are easy-to-interpret and highlight commonly-smuggled organic threats and contraband, such as narcotics, cigarettes, alcohol and currency.
With the ZBV operated in Stationary Scan Mode, dual-energy transmission and Z Backscatter images are acquired simultaneously as vehicles drive between the ZBV and the Tx-View trailer. When the Tx-View option is not deployed, the ZBV operates in normal drive-by mode.
The ZBV Tx-View option is deployed quickly and easily, is completely self-contained for storage and transport, and is built for the same rugged operating conditions as the ZBV.
AS&E’s new detector technology is packaged in highly durable, thin profile enclosures and used for both vertical and ground detectors. This combination of detectors provides dual-energy transmission images with no cut-off of typical passenger vehicles.
The Tx-View option is compatible with all models of ZBV and is available as an upgrade for current ZBV customers.
ZBV with the Tx-View option is ideal for use at critical infrastructure and other high-threat facilities, military installations, border crossings, and Customs checkpoints.
